Launch of Airborne Geophysical Survey of Karamoja Region

The Government of Uganda, through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development (MEMD) has launched the use of aerial surveys in the Karamoja region.

Karamoja Region has potential for economic minerals such as gold, copper, iron ore, Rare Earth Elements, gemstones and Marble). Given Uganda’s conducive investment environment, these Minerals will contribute to the country’s economic growth and poverty alleviation by creating jobs and exports of the minerals over a long period of time. The sustainable management of mineral resources in Karamoja region will lead to the transformation of livelihoods of the people of Karamoja and Uganda in general. Download file
